ScHoolboy Q surprise releases three new music videos in one day along with new song snippets

Los Angeles-based rapper ScHoolboy Q has dropped three new music videos from his latest album, BLUE LIPS, which released a few months ago on 1 March via Top Dawg Entertainment/Interscope. The follow-up to 2019’s CrasH Talk debuted at position 13 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

The first video of the bunch is dedicated to “Thank god 4 me” – third song on the album - filled with slick camera moves during the track’s high-energy trap segments, as well as depictions of different criminal scenarios in relation to Q’s verses. Once the credits roll on the Omar Jones-directed video, it's revealed that the whole thing had been screened in a movie theater in front of a raving crowd. Soon after, somebody starts playing “BANG YOUR HEAD”, by Devin Malik, featuring Q.

Less than an hour later, a new video for “Lost Times” – the album’s 14th track - released on Top Dawg Entertainment’s Youtube channel. It recreates several iconic scenes from different cartoons and films from the golden age of American animation, such as Pinocchio, Mickey Mouse, and Snow White, among others.

The last of the trio is a video for “Nunu” – 12th on the BLUE LIPS tracklist, - directed by Q himself and James Mackel. It begins with a 15-second snippet of unreleased music while the words “Volume 51” are displayed on-screen, after which, the video for “Nunu” starts, showcasing a slower rythm and direction. Most of it includes Quincy Hanley sitting on the front porch of a log cabin as the camera zooms in and out. Halfway through, “Nunu” finishes, and gives way to a brand-new song and video.

After hearing the teasers, fans are expecting a deluxe version of BLUE LIPS or any kind of package with unreleased material. The words “Volume 51”, which are shown at the start of “Nunu”, are also the caption of Q’s tweets sharing the music videos he recently released. The number refers to where he spent most of his growing up in Los Angeles, on 51st Street, near Figueroa and Hoover Streets.

In addition, a new song, "Sage", featuring the West Coast rapper in collaboration with Rome Streetz and producer Daringer, released at midnight.
