Singer and provocateur Sabrina Carpenter gushed over a Silk Sonic concert she attended, sans cellular devices, in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. While Carpenter is aware that locking phones up at her own shows would "honestly piss off [her] fans," she calls the Silk Sonic gig the best concert-going experience of her life.
Carpenter says a sea of iPhones in the crowd "unfortunately feels super normal" to her. While she cracked a joke about implementing a phone ban when she's decades into her career – "Do not zoom in on me when I'm 80 years old up there" – her sentiment seemed genuine.
"Everyone’s singing, dancing, looking at each other, and laughing. It really, really just felt so beautiful."
The pop star has announced her next project slated for an August release, Man's Best Friend. The record has already made headlines for its mildly controversial cover and lead single "Manchild."
