ROSÉ and Bruno Mars go pop-rock in “APT.” music video

BLACKPINK’S ROSÉ and Bruno Mars have teamed up for “APT.” – a reference to the Korean drinking game "Apartment" – a vibrant pop-rock tune with upbeat, flirtatious lyrics, as the pre-chorus goes: “Don't you want me like I want you, baby? / Don't you need me like I need you now? / Sleep tomorrow, but tonight, go crazy.”

Directed by Daniel Ramos and Mars, the music video features both artists giving an intense performance, drinking, and dancing inside a loud pink room.

Mars, Cirkut, Omer Fedi, and Rogét Chahayed produced the track, which is the lead single of ROSÉ’s upcoming debut solo album rosie.

About the meaning of the track ROSÉ had to say:

“‘APT’ is actually my favorite Korean drinking game that I play with my friends back home, it’s so simple, puts a smile on your face, and breaks the ice at any party. One night in the studio I taught my crew how to play the game. Everyone was fascinated, especially when I started the chant, so we played around with it and I said we should make a song out of it… and after Bruno joined the track, the rest became history!”

Mars also wrote about his experience with the drinking game in an Instagram post:

“So this was me hanging on for dear life after @roses_are_rosie introduced me to this Korean drinking game and got me saucy. Soon after, she tried to kiss me, and I was like “woah Rosie! what part of the game is this?” She was like, “I ain’t playin games wit you anymore lil boy! Big Rosie bout that BIDNESS!” Shaken, I replied “stop Rosie, I’m scared!” But other than that, super chill night.”

The BLACKPINK members have been prolific in their recent solo careers. JENNIE dropped “Mantra” a week ago, and LISA collaborated with Rosalía on “New Woman”. Mars also colaborated with Lady Gaga on "Die With A Smile" this year.

rosie is out on 6 December via Atlantic Records/THEBLACKLABEL. Pre-order here.
