Rich Homie Quan's posthumous album 'Forever Goin In' released shortly after announcement

Late Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan’s first posthumous album, Forever Goin In, has been released today via Rich Homie Quan Enterntainment.

The album’s title was first shown on the rapper’s X account, and later officially announced on his Instagram account. It is a reference to his "Going In" series of mixtapes, with famous installments such as I Go In on Every Song, Still Goin In, and I Promise I Will Never Stop Going In. The new record is a follow-up to 2022's Family & Mula - Reloaded.

A caption that seems to be written in Quan’s voice under the LP's announcement explains how the 35-song tracklist pays homage to him:

“Dropping at MIDNIGHT!
34 listed songs ironically that’s the age I… 🕊️🙏🏿😔bonus 1 extra, because tomorrow will forever be a celebration! My GIF to my Fans 🤟🏿”

Today would have been the 35th birthday of the “Lifestyle” artist, who passed away at the age of 34 on 5 September. His death was recently ruled an accidental overdose. According to the Fulton Countly Medical Examiner, fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, promethazine and THC were found in his system.

The recently released posthumous single “Song Cry” didn’t make it to the album. The track was accompanied by a music video featuring old footage of Quan recording vocals in the booth, as well as various moments from his funeral – where the posthumous song was first played – including an intro in which the Atlanta City Council declares 17 September “Rich Homie Quan Memorial Day”.

A few days after the rapper's death, his father and manager, Corey Lamar, said in an interview with WSB-TV in Atlanta that they were putting together a rollout for an unreleased album:

"We had just completed a 20- or 25-song project and we were in the process of scheduling two video shoots off our project."

Lamar also spoke about his late son's unreleased music catalogue:

“Quan had probably over 2,000 unreleased songs, but once he gets in a mode to record, those songs become old to him. And when they become old he wants to focus on the new stuff. He has a catalog in the vault. He has a ton of music that the fans need to hear.”
