It’s been a busy summer for Irish rapper Rejjie Snow. New single “Karen” is his third in as many months, following the Kaytranada-produced tracks "Keep Up" and "All Night”. It’s also the lead track from PEACE 2 DA WORLD, his first album in 3 years, which lands on 25 October via Honeymoon / +1 Records.
In many ways, PEACE 2 DA WORLD is an album about stepping into your own power and focusing on what’s really important in life. Inspired by his new fatherhood and time spent reflecting and gathering his thoughts in Brazil, Snow describes PEACE 2 DA WORLD as “a worldly album, sonically and emotionally,” adding:
“I’m a nomadic person so this is my soundtrack to those days and the places I roamed. On this album I’m speaking to my favourite person in the world, and this is the first time I’ve made something for someone specifically. I like working this way because I was forced to honour and challenge myself in ways I’ve never done so before.”
Long-time collaborator Rahki handles production for all 13 tracks on the album. Watch the Reuben Bastienne-Lewis directed video for “Karen” below:
