Primus release new single featuring Tool's Maynard James Keenan

Primus is providing one third of the entertainment on Maynard James Keenan's ongoing Sessanta tour commemorating his 60th birthday. Keenan's solo project Puscifer and A Perfect Circle, his band with Billy Howerdel, round out the lineup – and now, Keenan has teamed up on a song with Les Claypool's merry men.

The track, "Little Lord Fentanyl", is described in a press release as a "twisted fable" which features classic Claypool bass work and some electronic embellishment. On the drums is John Hoffman, marking the first time the heir to Tim Alexander's throne appears on a Primus cut. Alexander left the band last year.

Primus previously released "Pablo's Hippos" with Keenan, in the midst of the first leg of the Sessanta tour. This leg wraps up in Washington, with a June 7th performance in Auburn. Soon after, Primus will embark on their own tour, Onward & Upward, with support from MonoNeon and Ty Segall.
