Blrrrd, blrrrd, blrrrd, blrrrd, blrrrd, blrrrd, blrrrd. Pooh Shiesty, the "Back in Blood" rapper, has been released from prison early due to good behavior.
Back in April 2022, Pooh (legal name Lontrell D. Williams) was sentenced to 63 months in prison after pleading guilty in Miami to one felony count of conspiracy to possess firearms in furtherance of violent and drug trafficking crimes.
If you don’t remember what led to this, it all started with a drive-by shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, in which Pooh was in the car. He was also accused of being part of a group that stole drugs and sneakers after shooting two people in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Pooh was 20 years old at the time and was facing up to 20 years in prison before being sentenced to 63 months.
Now 25, he has officially been released from prison on time served and good behavior. XXL posted the following statement from Pooh’s attorney, Brad Cohen, on the release:
"I am elated that Pooh has been released after 3 years. The government fought hard to give him 10, but after listening to the case, the Judge agreed with us that it was not appropriate and gave him a sentence that resulted in him serving 3 years. I know he will come back bigger than ever and definitely learned from this experience. He is excited to start the next chapter of his story. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and I think that this is just the beginning of his second act."
