Pink Floyd to re-release “Live at Pompeii” in theaters and IMAX

Set the controls for the heart of the movie theaters. Pink Floyd’s legendary film, “Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii - MCMLXXII,” has been re-mastered and is set to be re-released in theaters across the world April 24, 2025.

Filmed in October of 1971, the live-concert film has been digitally re-mastered in 4K and sonically remixed in 5.1 sound and Dolby Atmos. Tickets are available for presale March 5 for regular and IMAX screenings.

Set in a Roman Amphitheatre in Pompeii, Italy, the band performs songs from their 1971 album, Meddle, as well as several tracks from their earlier album Saucerful of Secrets. The recording is particularly notable for having no live audience, and for the band’s performance of the 23-minute track “Echoes” in its entirety. The soundtrack has been re-mixed for Dolby and 5.1 surround sound by English prog-rock musician, Steven Wilson, who has previously worked on remixes for Tears for Fears, King Crimson, and Black Sabbath.

The soundtrack will be released May 2nd on CD, vinyl, and streaming, as well as a Blu-Ray and DVD of the remastered film.
