Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs announce new album 'Death Hilarious'

Stoner metal heavyweight Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs return, following their 2023 fuzzed-up behemoth Land of Sleeper. The Newcastle band's newest record Death Hilarious will be released April 4 via Missing Piece Records (North America) and Rocket Records (everywhere else).

Along with Death Hilarious's announcement, Pigs also share their new single "Stitches" and its accompanying stop-motion nightmare of a music video. Directed by Ben Faircloth, the clip has the band dismembered and sewn onto new grotesque creations, soundtracked by Pigs' fitting Sabbathian scuzz.

Watch the music video for "Stitches" here:

Frontman Matt Baty describes the song as "an expression of vulnerability, paradoxical emotions, and those so familiar pangs of anxiety I wrestle with while butting heads with societal expectations and personal struggles."

Pigs' upcoming Death Hilarious aims for a more hostile sound than their previous record. "We wanted it to be a slap in the face," chortles producer and guitarist Sam Grant. After playing so many gigs over the last year, the band has grown comfortable and ready to give their audience a "kind of pummeling" akin to how they sound live.

The album's lyrical content emerged from Baty's anxieties around writing, wondering if he would ever be able to make quality lyrics again. With the doubts flooding his mind, his answer was to embrace the disquiet. "After a while I realised this is my muse," recalls Baty. "I decided to give all these thoughts an avenue to release themselves, in the hope of exorcising them."

The record will also include a feature from producer and rapper El-P, who is no stranger to hard rock collaborations (see his track with members of At the Drive-In or his many Run the Jewels songs with Zack de la Rocha). Find the tracklist and European tour dates down below.
