Australian drum and bass pioneers Pendulum are back with a brand new single, "Napalm," featuring a collaboration with American hip hop duo Joey Valence & Brae. This release marks the band's first new track of 2024.
Pendulum founder and producer Rob Swire talked about working with the duo:
“As soon as I heard their single ‘Punk Tactics’ I knew we had to work together on a heavy DnB track”
Pendulum, recognized as one of Australia's premier electronic exports, broke into the scene in 2005 with the launch of their debut album, Hold Your Colour, which quickly rose to the top of the UK charts. Infusing drum and bass with rock elements, the Perth-based group has garnered a strong following, selling over 1 million albums and attracting more than 2.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
Their subsequent albums, In Silico (2008) and Immersion (2010), further solidified their success before taking a hiatus in 2012. Returning in 2015, Pendulum resumed live performances and introduced new tracks, "Nothing for Free" and "Driver," in 2020. Following this resurgence, the EPs Elemental (2021) and Anima (2023) were released as the band embarked on a UK headline tour earlier this year.
"Napalm," their latest single, offers a glimpse of what lies ahead for fans, with more music slated for release later in the year. Pendulum are currently on tour with multiple dates this weekend across the UK and September dates set in North America.
