Steven Knight, a noted filmmaker known for creating the 2013 show Peaky Blinders, will be involved as a producer in a Oasis documentary about their long-awaited comeback tour.
Not much information is available yet, as the tour doesn’t kick off until July 4, in Cardiff, but, according to a press release, it’s being billed as “A Film by Steven Knight”. The film will be directed by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace.
Both directors are adept in the field of music documentaries, having been behind LCD Soundsystem’s Madison Square Garden documentary-concert film, Shut Up and Play the Hits; a deep-dive into 2000s New York music scene, Meet Me In The Bathroom; and No Distance Left To Run, a film about Blur’s 2009 reunion Tour.
Knight has directorial and writing credits in other films like the Tom Hardy-led film Locke, Serenity, and Dirty Pretty Things. He’s also currently working on an Untitled Peaky Blinders Film.
Magna Studios company will produce the feature film, and distribution will be handled by Sony Music Vision.
Oasis' line-up for their anticipated tour was recently leaked by NME, which didn't sit right with Liam Gallagher.
