Peaches returns with first album in a decade, shares first single and new North American tour

Electroclash auteur Peaches (aka Merrill Nisker) is back with a brand new album. No Lube So Rude, her first LP in ten years, is out next year (specific date TBA).

Despite details being scarce, Nisker has put out the first taste of the record, with first single "Not in Your Mouth None of Your Business", which was created with producer Squirt Deluxe. Check it out below:

Nisker says of the new music:

"When the world is friction, lube isn’t a luxury. It’s a necessity. It’s how you turn that friction into pleasure, into power, into pride. I want people to understand that they can still have a voice no matter who they are or what the world says about them. Now more than ever, there are so many forces that just want you to give up and be quiet. If this album can help you resist that, then that’s what it’s for."

Peaches has not put out a studio effort since 2015's Rub, though she did have two singles come out in 2020 and 2021: "Flip This" and "Pussy Mask", respectively. She was also featured on Regurgitator's 2024 song "This is Not a Pop Song". Most recently, she featured on Boyfriend's album In the Garden, which released this past spring.

In 2022, Nisker was the subject of two separate documentaries: Teaches of Peaches, about her 20th anniversary of her The Teaches of Peaches album; and Peaches Goes Bananas, which is a broader biographical profile.

Furthermore, Peaches is headed out on a lengthy through America and Canada, starting February 20 in Miami and ending March 29 in New Orleans. A dollar from each ticket sale will go to Trans Justice Funding Project, via Plus1. Find those dates below.
