Rising British singer/songwriter Paris Paloma has joined the likes of Annie Lennox, Emilíana Torrini, and Enya as the latest performer to soundtrack a film project set in J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.

Released in cinemas beginning 11 December, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim is an anime adventure set 183 years before the events of the original The Lord of the Rings trilogy, telling the story of Héra, daughter of the Rohirrim king Helm Hammerhand (voiced in the movie by Succession's Brian Cox).

Directed by Kenji Kamiyama, the animation is narrated by actor Miranda Otto who played the Rohirrim character Éowyn in the original trilogy, and also stars Gaia Wise as Héra and Luke Pasqualino as the vengeance-seeking Wulf.

Writing in a press release, Paloma says:

“I became completely immersed in Middle-earth, both in the books and the movies, and I have never found a world or a story since that inspires me more than this one that Tolkien built. It is an incredible dream come true to have recorded this song... To be a part of this family and of Middle-earth is something I will cherish forever.”

Paloma released her debut album Cacophony earlier this year, and will tour throughout Europe and North America over the coming months. Full list of dates below:
