Ora Cogan shares new video for "High Noon" as US tour kicks off

Canadian experimental singer-songwriter Ora Cogan continues to follow the word-of-mouth success of her 2023 album Formless with a new animated video for "High Noon" and a full-band US tour that kicked off last night in Nashville.

"High Noon" is the sixth song from Formless to get an accompanying video, following "Cowgirl", "Dyed", "Katie Cruel", "Feel Life" and the Y La Bamba collaboration "Ways of Losing". Directed by Alistair Nicholls, the clip uses a mixture of old-fashioned stop motion animation techniques to bring to life a triumphant tale of community and finding chosen family.

"High Noon" is a song about having "no trust in a culture of selfishness and lack of care and the risk of really scary right-wing, backwards shit," says Cogan, adding:

[It's about] shadow work, re-calibrating an internal compass constantly thrown off by the magnetism of a defunct, deranged capitalist society [...] Looking for love and connection and ways to have real community or understanding but in wonky ways and finding wonky answers."

Cogan's headline tour runs through to 27 October, followed by a run of seven dates opening for Emma Ruth Rundle. Full details below:
