Offset to perform in Russia despite UMG boycott

Former Migos rapper Offset has recently announced that he will be performing a show in Russia this April at Moscow’s MTC Live Hall. He posted a link to Instagram with Russian ticket info.

This has drawn controversy due to the fact that his parent label, Universal Music Group, is participating in a boycott of the country, along with most Western music companies, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Most Western artists have subsequently canceled their plans to perform in the country following this as well.

UMG stated at the time:

We urge an end to the violence in Ukraine as soon as possible. We are adhering to international sanctions and, along with our employees and artists, have been working with groups from a range of countries to support humanitarian relief efforts to bring urgent aid to refugees in the region.

Representatives for Offset, Universal, Capitol, and his agency Independent Artist Group have yet to respond.
