Oakwood announce 'Blurred Away', first album in a decade

After years of silence, the reunited Oakwood have announced Blurred Away, a new full-length arriving May 29 via Memory Music. It’s their first major release since 2015’s Summer EP, and from the sound of it, they haven’t lost the ache that made them matter in the first place.

Now there’s “A Tangled Mess”, a new track that leans fully into Oakwood’s DNA: bright, interlacing guitar lines that shimmer just long enough before collapsing under the weight of Mat Dwyer’s raw-throated delivery. Listen below:

The album was recorded with Phil Odom and mastered by Will Yip. It includes “Footnote”, the band’s first new song in ten years, which was released in October.

The band will take this new chapter to the stage later this year at Sound & Fury in August, but not before a proper hometown return. On May 29, they’ll play Austin’s Mohawk alongside Dead Butterflies, Nervous, and Alwaysneverstays.

Blurred Away is out May 29. Pre-order/pre-save here. Tracklist below:

1. Every Day, Forever
2. A Tangled Mess
3. Footnote
4. Fall Apart
5. Blurred Away
6. The Color of Caring
7. Serpentine (My Whole Life)
8. Distance Silence
9. The Deepest Green
10. Fields Behind the House
