Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor names Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" his song of 2024

Trent Reznor, mastermind of alternative mainstay Nine Inch Nails, revealed his song of the year at the Golden Globes red carpet, and it's a shocker.

It's that ubiquitous Sabrina Carpenter hit "Espresso," if you're wondering. In the midst of claiming the "Best Score" accolade for their work on Luca Guadagnino's Challengers, Reznor and Atticus Ross appeared before reporters to answer some questions. When asked what his song of 2024 was, Reznor promptly answered with Carpenter's instant classic.

"I'm going to have to go with 'Espresso.'

"I'm going to have to go with 'Espresso,' Reznor declared, a choice that the reporter conversing with him dubbed "unexpected."

Reznor's Nine Inch Nails is planned to score the upcoming Tron film, Ares, out in October of this year.
