UK junglist Nia Archives has officially set off her new label, Up Ya Archives, with an inaugural single, "Get Loose", a collaboration with Bristol up-and-comer Cheetah.
Get loose to their new song here:
The first of many, "Get Loose" is a buzzing, colorful entry into Nia Archives' label dedicated to everything "new gen junglism." She found underground producer Cheetah in the depths of Bandcamp and included his track "Spin Sugar" on her BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix back in 2023. The two connected on their mutual love of free raves and thrashing to breakbeats.
Cheetah describes the new single as "an ode to soundsystem and party culture." He continues, "It’s about that feeling of being completely one on one with the music, head buried into the rig and feeling the bass rattle your ribs."
Nia Archives describes it as quintessential carefree party gyal material: "It’s us being care free and not caring too much about what everyone else is up to, we just wanna have some fun!"
In other Nia Archives news, she just announced an NTS radio residency "Up Ya Archives with Nia Archives." The weekly radio show begins April 25, from 5-6 PM (London time), and is dedicated to the best of new gen junglism.
