Mr. Met, the official mascot for the New York Mets, took a tumble last night when he appeared on stage during The Lumineers’ performance at Citi Field, the Mets' Stadium.
During the band’s performance of “Ophelia”, lead singer Wesley Schultz tossed the mascot a tambourine, which Mr. Met failed to catch. After scrambling on the floor to pick it up, the mascot appeared to recover from the gaff, until he stepped in between a gap in the stage and fell over the side.

Mr. Met seemed to recover as he lifted the tambourine into the sky, got back on stage, and finished the performance. He later tweeted, “Don’t worry, I don’t oppheeliiia too bad.” Mr. Met’s wife, Mrs. Met, also tweeted about the incident, saying, “Love my man, on and off the stage”, along with orange and blue hearts.
