Mr. Bungle's former saxophonist found guilty of murdering girlfriend

Theobald "Theo" Lengyel, a former member of Mr. Bungle that contributed saxophone and other instruments to their first two albums, was found guilty of first-degree murder. The victim? His girlfriend.

In January, the 55-year-old musician was arrested as a suspect in the murder, before being found guilty of the crime on October 11th. Facing life in prison, Lengyel will be sentenced in November.

A jury in Santa Cruz reached the damning verdict after just one day of debate, finding Lengyel guilty in killing Alice "Alyx" Kamakaokalani Hermann, 61, on December 4, 2023.

A recording of the murder was found on Herrmann's phone, in which Lengyel can be heard strangling her after her refusal to go out for a game of pool.

Mr. Bungle recently concluded a lengthy reunion tour centered around its 1985 demo, The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny. Lengyel, though he played on the original demo, was not involved.
