Moses Sumney has just announced he will be playing two shows next Monday, April 7 at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, NY. With the announcement comes the news that Sumney’s next record is nearly complete, and these shows act as a focus group for ironing out the album’s final kinks.
“My new album is almost done, but I need a little bit of feedback,” Sumney said in a video announcement. “I need to know how it feels live in front of people.” Sumney and co. will play two sets in the North Hall of Pioneer Works; the first at 7:00 p.m. and the second at 9:30 p.m.
Presale for these two shows are ongoing (use code “MOSESS”), and general sale opens up Tuesday, April 1st at 10:00 a.m. EST. For more information, check out Pioneer Works’ website.

Sumney put out his EP Sophcore last summer via Tuntum, plus covered Sylvester and SOPHIE on the compilation project TRAИƧA in November. Later this summer, Sumney will make his stage debut in Twelfth Night (or What You Will) as part of The Public Theater’s annual Shakespeare in the Park series. He will play Feste, the play’s court jester, and act alongside Lupita Nyong’o, Junior Nyong’o, Peter Dinklage, Sandra Oh, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and more. The show will run from August 7 to September 14 for free at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
