Miley Cyrus criticized at film screening by fans who were expecting a concert

Pop star Miley Cyrus attended a premier of the film for her new audiovisual album, Something Beautiful, at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 6th.

Billed as a "pop opera featuring thirteen original new songs," some fans bought tickets in the hopes that Cyrus would put on a show. When she took the stage, hecklers came out in force.

Fans, some of whom paid $800 a head for the experience, yelled "We thought this was a concert!" and "Are you actually going to sing?" While the event's host underscored the fact that Tribeca is a film festival, Cyrus let an impromptu vocal-only performance of her song "The Climb" fly into the crowd.

Some of the filmgoers took to social media in order to voice their disappointment. One fan on Instagram recalled using StubHub to buy tickets which "said MILEY CYRUS LIVE. It wasn't clear that it wasn't a concert so yea, for 1200 bucks for 2 crappy far away seats to see a movie [...] I was livid and felt duped."

If you'd like to see the new film, it'll hit theaters for one night only. The U.S. and Canada will host screenings on June 12th, while international screenings will follow on June 27th. Secure your seats here.
