Miley Cyrus Announces ‘Hannah Montana’ 20th Anniversary Special for Disney+

Two decades after Hannah Montana first turned her into a household name, Miley Cyrus is heading back to her roots.

Cyrus has officially announced a 20th anniversary special celebrating the Disney Channel phenomenon, set to premiere March 24 on Disney+. The special will be filmed in front of a live audience and promises a behind-the-scenes look at the making of one of pop culture’s most enduring alter egos.

Framed as both a retrospective and a thank-you, the special will dig into the origins and legacy of the series, while also spotlighting its lasting global fanbase. It will feature a sit-down conversation between Cyrus and Alex Cooper, host of the Call Her Daddy podcast.

“Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am,” Cyrus shared, reflecting on the role that launched her career. “This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”

Originally airing from 2006 to 2011, the series followed teenage double-life hijinks as Miley Stewart balanced normal life with secret pop stardom. Along the way, it spawned multiple chart-topping soundtracks, including the debut Hannah Montana album, cementing its place as a defining force in Disney-era pop culture.
