Megan Thee Stallion to bring "hot girl winter" Olympics coverage to Italy

The three-time Grammy winner, Megan Thee Stallion is teaming up with NBC to cover the Winter Games on her own YouTube channel, which casually pulls 7.3 million subscribers and racked up more than 630 million music views in the past year. Instead of a traditional correspondent, we’re getting Meg with a mic, rare access to Olympic venues, and behind-the-scenes moments most fans never get to see.

“I just feel like music and culture go hand-in-hand with sports,” Meg said, and honestly, she’s right. From tunnel walk fits to victory anthems, sports have always had a soundtrack. Meg stepping into the Olympic world feels less random and more like the next evolution of pop culture’s slow merge into every major global moment. She’s not just performing at the party, she’s hosting it.

What makes this even better? She’s pulling up as a fan first.

“I’m really going into the situation like just a complete fan, not Megan Thee Stallion,” she said. “I don’t know if these people know me at all. Hopefully, when we get over here, we all get to know each other at the same time, and we create fans out of each other.”

And yes, she’s done her homework. Meg says she got into hockey after watching HBO’s Heated Rivalry, which feels very on-brand, dramatic, intense, a little sexy. She’s especially drawn to the grace and athleticism of hockey and figure skating, two sports that combine brute force and ballet-level precision. Watching her react in real time to a triple axel or a brutal body check is sure to draw new eyeballs to the action.

Angela Courtin, YouTube’s VP of entertainment and sports marketing, framed the partnership as part of a bigger cultural shift. Sports content is up 45% on living room screens compared to last year, and platforms like YouTube are blurring the lines between broadcast and creator-led storytelling. Pairing the Olympics with an artist who commands a global digital audience isn’t just smart marketing. It’s a recognition that fans want access, personality, and community, not just highlight reels.

“Megan will exclusively bring her millions of global YouTube fans behind the scenes of the winter games,” Courtin said, calling it a “shared experience that is truly unmissable.”
