Mastodon release vinyl edition of new album embedded with remnants of mastodon teeth

If colored or splatter vinyl discs aren't enough for you, Mastodon may have made your dreams come true with the "Bone Dust" version of Marrow Deep, their latest album. The bone in question? Mastodon teeth.

According to the band, they were presented around two decades ago with a substantial bag of teeth sourced from elephantine beasts of millennia past. These teeth, not being display-worthy, were retained by the band until bassist Troy Sanders had the idea to grind them into dust for pressing into vinyl LPs.

170 units of the "Bone Dust" Marrow Deep will be produced after "10,000 years in the making." In order to give folks a fair shake at obtaining a copy, Mastodon is releasing the variant through a lottery method. Enter here for a chance to buy one of your very own when they go live.
