British trip-hoppers Massive Attack are known for their activism and release schedule best described as "occasional." This week, they have announced some on-brand news: new music is coming in 2026, but it won't hit Spotify.
"...we will release a cache of work created in the recent past," the group revealed. "Tracks will be available physically and digitally via a new label with a Spotify exception."
Earlier this year, Massive Attack announced their vacating of Spotify, given CEO Daniel Ek's involvement with the AI military tech firm Helsing. While Massive Attack released a bit of music in 2020, through the Euotopia EP, they haven't produced a full-length since 2010's Heligoland. More recently, they have geo-blocked their music from the Israel streaming market, and announced a performance at Primavera Sound next year.
