UK noise band Mandy, Indiana have revealed "Cursive", the second preview of upcoming LP URGH, out of February 6th on Sacred Bones.
Watch the video below:
Synth player Simon Catling says of the process of creating the track:
"‘Cursive’ is probably our most collaborative track to-date. Whilst Scott (Fair, guitar) and Valentine (Caulfield, vocals) often offer the initial impetus behind most of our songs, ‘Cursive' was built up from a number of Alex (Macdougall, drums)'s rhythmic sketches and my bass sequence. Valentine added her vocals later and Scott worked to sculpt these elements together. It was exciting having everyone bring their own ideas to the table from the off, throwing them together and seeing what could come out of it — a bit of a step into the unknown for us as a band.”
"Cursive" was preceded by lead single "Magazine" on November 12th last year when the record was announced. URGH has both guitarist/producer Scott Fair and Gilla Band's Daniel Fox fingerprints on it behind the producer's booth, spreading the writing and recording process between Leeds, Berlin and Manchester. Furthermore, Mandy, Indiana enlisted Brooklyn rapper billy woods to appear on the track "Sicko!".
