Magdalena Bay continue to share new music with us a month after post-Imaginal Disk tracks “Star Eyes” and “Second Sleep”, while they’re on tour in support of their breakthrough 2024 album.
The psychedelic synth-pop duo have now gifted us “Human Happens” and “Paint Me A Picture”. Both tracks distance themselves from the past batch sonically, embodying a more ominous soundscape that matches the spooky-occult artwork by Parker Steven Jackson (animated by Noah Barrios) on the two single covers. Listen to them below:
“Here’s another pair of songs that complement each other — different than the last, different than the next,” Mica Tenenbaum and Matthew Lewin said in a press release statement, but no clue of a new album or EP yet, if there's any.
On Imaginal Disk’s first anniversary, Magdalena Bay announced they have a full-length album movie releasing “at some point,” directed by Amanda Kramer and written and edited by Tenenbaum and Lewin.
