Luminous Kid teams up with Okay Alright for new track "the stars are lookin' down"

Alan Pedder

You might not know the name Luminous Kid but you've almost certainly seen the work of Olof Grind, the man behind the name. The Swedish artist and photographer has shot album covers for Phoebe Bridgers (Punisher, Copycat Killer), First Aid Kit (Palomino), and James Yorkston (Songs for Nina and Johanna), among many others, and Bridgers even lent her voice to the song "Mountain Crystals" from the first Luminous Kid album, 2021's at the end of the dream.

Five years on, he's back with a new song, "the stars are lookin' down," a collaboration with Californian artist Bryce Waitkus, aka Okay Alright, written "on a camping trip up the coast where we reflected on the beauty and magic of nature and the inner world that opens up when you're on the road." Okay Alright's most recent album, soften my eyes after sleepless nights, came out in 2024.

Listen to "the stars are lookin' down" below:

There's more to come from the duo later in the year.
