Lottie Brazier releases single "Ropes Of Time", teases album project

Following her previous single "Washing Machine", songwriter/musician Lottie Brazier has shared a new track called "Ropes Of Time", channeling Wire, Broadcast, and Pornography-era The Cure.

Watch the video for it below:

Brazier says of "Ropes Of Time":

"The song has multiple inspirations that I have weaved together. Primarily, it's inspired by anxiety I felt at the time as a woman looking towards the future of society. That chorus is a rally against the expectations, constraints and assumptions people subconsciously place on you, especially in relationships or when dating. In the lyrics, I'm also joining the dots between witches' marks and being a writer, the idea that people look for deeper meanings in words all the time, sometimes even when there are no straight answers."

"Ropes Of Time" is part of a yet-to-be officially announced album project, slated for release early 2026. According to Brazier, this was the final song brought into the 4AD studio to be mixed. "I almost didn't think to use it at all on the album, but it took on a life of its own. I think it's the type of song which sneaks up on you in an unexpected way - at least it did for me."
