Los Angeles Fire: Artist update and resources for assistance

Fierce wildfires are burning out of control in the Los Angeles area, destroying acres of homes and properties, and prompting evacuations across the city. The Palisades Fire, which began on Tuesday morning, and the Kenneth Fire, which started in Woodland Hills, combined with the Eaton Fire in the Hollywood hills, have now destroyed over 29,000 acres (27 square miles) and destroyed more than 10,000 structures, according to CalFire.

The National Weather Service has declared a Red Flag Warning across Los Angeles and Ventura County through Friday, warning LA residents of “extreme risk” and advising they “stay alert to the forecast and follow instructions from emergency officials.” The New York Times reports that, as of the time of this writing, five people have died in the fire, but the full number is still unknown.

Across the music industry, artists and musicians have evacuated from their homes and provided updates and resources. Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins has reported evacuating his home; singer Jhené Aiko shared on Instagram she has lost her home; and Brad Wick from Rage against the Machine and Audioslave has also evacuated with his family.
