Liverpool trio Stealing Sheep launch own label and announce new album ‘GLO (Girl Life Online)’

For their fifth album, Liverpool’s Stealing Sheep are doing things differently, intent on disrupting the typical release cycle with a more spontaneous approach – this time on their own, with newly formed label G-IRL (Girl in Real Life). They've also announced a new album, GLO (Girl Life Oline), arriving September 19.

Speaking on lead single “Found You”, out today, Hawley says:

"The goosebumps hit as we crafted this track – a thrill-seeking dance on the edge of anxiety. It’s that tense, euphoric rise when you finally uncover what you’ve been searching for, even as that lurking shadow whispers, ‘curiosity killed the cat.’ In the chaos, there’s beauty, but it’s a delicate balance, isn’t it?"

The song tackles “a social paradox,” adds Wills, describing it as “a lonely clubbers’ lament.” Mercer points to festival-friendly dance tracks like Benny Benassi’s “Satisfaction” and Freddie La Grand’s “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” as sonic touchstones for the track, while Lansley credits iconic trashy TV shows from ‘90s Britain (The Big Breakfast, The Word, TFI Friday) as some of her own inspirations.

The new LP arrives as Becky Hawley, Emily Lansley, and Luci Mercer’s most freewheeling and collaborative album yet, featuring guest appearances by Big Joanie’s Estella Deyeri, She Drew the Gun, Mickey Dripping, and Manchester-based MC Meduulla. Co-written with and produced by longtime friend of the band Joe Wills, the “visual pop” of GLO takes inspiration from Liverpool’s cultural heritage as well as groundbreaking British artists like Jeremy Deller, Tracey Emin, and the KLF.
