Little Dragon's Yukimi shares debut solo single, announces short US tour

Swedish singer-songwriter Yukimi has released her debut solo single. "Break Me Down" is the first taste of the Little Dragon frontwoman's solo endeavors, and comes with some great teamwork: the song is produced by her fellow Little Dragon Erik Bodin (who also plays on the song), as well as songwriting and guitar assistance from the great Lianne La Havas.

Watch the Fredrik Egerstrand-directed video below:

Reportedly, the video for "Break Me Down" was shot at the beach where legendary filmmaker Ingmar Bergman shot some key scenes from his iconic film The Seventh Seal. They even recreated some infamous sequences and shots from the film, with Yukimi explaining: "We redid the iconic scene with Death and the Knight at the exact same position/framing as a tribute the this old masterpiece."

In addition to this first song – and the promise of more on the way – Yukimi is playing a short US tour to commemorate this new journey.

On the forthcoming solo material, a press release says: "Her upcoming solo work sees a stunning new perspective from the Yukimi fans know and love as she blends pop-R&B and alternative soul with a more vulnerable lyrical focus."

The last Little Dragon album was 2023's Slugs of Love.

You can stream and purchase "Break Me Down" at Yukimi's Bandcamp.
