Out today via GOOD/Def Jam Records, 070 Shake's third album Petrichor features a surprise appearance from Courtney Love on a cover of Tim Buckley's "Song to the Siren". Perhaps even more surprising is that Love's former bandmate Melissa Auf der Maur also features on the track, marking their first collaboration on record in more than 20 years.
Rumors of a Hole reunion have been floating around for almost as long, but Auf der Maur has previously expressed little interest in getting Hole back into the studio, so this is perhaps the closest we'll ever come to new music from the band.
Listen to it below:
Other guests on Petrichor include City Girls' JT, Nashville singer/songwriter Cam, and 070 Shake's partner Lily-Rose Depp, who reads from one of the couple's letters on "Blood On Your Hands" and stars in the video for lead single "Winter Baby / New Jersey Blues".
Funnily enough, 070 Shake's is the second notable cover of "Song to the Siren" to drop this year featuring an iconic '90s rockstar. Listen to the Garbage version below, from the Lie To Me EP that dropped on Record Store Day back in April.
070 Shake's Petrichor Tour kicks off in Atlanta, GA on 21 January, and runs through to a closing date in London, UK on 31 March. Full list of dates below:
