It’s been 8 years since Lisa Hannigan’s last solo album, At Swim, but, in an Instagram post shared earlier today, the Irish singer/songwriter has confirmed that she’s been working on new material.
She also announced a new live ensemble show coming to venues across Ireland this November. Joining her on stage will be Clarice Jensen and Yuki Numata Resnick (wife of The National’s Kyle Resnick) on strings, and vocalists Theodora Byrne, Karen Cowley (aka Krea, and one-third of Wyvern Lingo), and Jane Patterson. Cowley also plays harp in the ensemble.
Writing on Instagram, Hannigan says:

I met Clarice and Yuki many years ago through Aaron Dessner, when they played their beautiful strings on 'At Swim'. Theo, Karen and Jane's heavenly voices are from the Theodora Byrne Ensemble, singing Theo's strange and expansive vocal arrangements. I'm very glad we get to do it again, at home this time.”
A live recording of Hannigan’s 2011 single “Passenger”, recorded with the ensemble in New York offers a taste of what to expect:
