Lil Yachty claims he can out-rap Joe Budden over an Alchemist beat

Lil Yachty claims he could lyrically "kill" Joe Budden if the two rapped over a beat from The Alchemist in the most recent episode of Yachty's A Safe Place podcast.

The Yachty and Budden podcast is the first time the two artists/media personalities have had an on-the-record conversation since the infamous 2017 Everyday Struggle episode which saw Budden angrily call out Yachty for his self-stated nonchalant approach toward his own career.

The years since have seen Lil Yachty undergo various evolutions in the sound of his music while Joe Budden has staunchly maintained his artistic retirement, even telling Yachty during the podcast that he hasn't recorded a song "since 2016."

"Do you think right now if me and you went in [the studio], Joe, that you could pen a better verse than me?" Yachty asked, implying the idea that he could outwrite the Mood Muzik artist. He later doubles down on this sentiment telling Joe Budden if they wrote verses against each other over an Alchemist beat, even without sleeping the night prior, "I would still kill you."

Budden largely laughs off the idea, saying "I'm not even dignifying this" early on and later stating "I would do it for fun because I'm retired, that would be just a fun content piece."

While Lil Yachty seems genuine in his desire to rap against his former Everyday Struggle antagonizer, Joe Budden hasn't released any new music or guest verses since 2016's Rage & The Machine, and despite saying he would do the verse for fun on the podcast, his attitude suggests he's more offended at the idea that Yachty believes the two have similar lyrical abilities.
