Lil Wayne’s manager seemingly shuts down Joe Budden’s claims that Wayne entered the booth to diss Kendrick Lamar

Yesterday (27 November), Joe Budden, on the most recent episode of his podcast, alleged some crucial information that happened after Kendrick Lamar name-dropped Lil Wayne on “wacced out murals”, the first track of his latest album, GNX, “Used to bump Tha Carter III, I held my Rollie chain proud / Irony, I think my hard work let Lil Wayne down,” Lamar said in the song.

The host and rapper claimed on his podcast:

“I am hearing that somebody went to the studio after they heard this album […] I’m hearing that somebody picked up the phone, tried to call and see what the energy was. I’m hearing that Kendrick didn’t answer.”

“But he told us on his letter, I go without a phone for months, anyway,” Lamar "Ice" Burney responded, referencing a letter the California rapper posted on his website in 2021, titled “nu thoughts

The host argumented that “If I’m calling you rapper to rapper and you don’t answer […] now I’m going in the booth. You have until I get in that booth to hit me back. […] Yes, I’m hearing that Wayne went in the booth,” Budden revealed. Watch the full clip below:

A few hours after the news went viral, Carter’s long-time engineer and manager, Fabian Marasciullo, posted a “cap” emoji on his Instagram stories, apparently refering to and denying the allegations made on the podcast about a possible diss track from Tunechi aimed at the “squabble up” rapper.

Marasciullo has stood up for Wayne on previous occasions, recently, when Lamar was chosen to perform at Super Bowl LIX halftime show, he expressed his frustration on Instagram Stories, “Confused. Disappointed. Angry. But most of all, inspired. Will never again be in a position or have the GOAT in a position where we are at the mercy of someone else’s decision. We will make the decisions.”
