Lil Nas X arrested for battery and hospitalized for possible overdose

Lil Nas X (real name Montero Lamar) has been arrested for battery of a police officer, according to a report from the Los Angeles Police Department, and hospitalized for a possible overdose.

Before the arrest, the two-time Grammy-winning rapper was located wandering down the Studio City area in Los Angeles' Ventura Boulevard at 5:50am (after witnesses called the police, according to the LAPD), wearing only his underwear and cowboy boots, apparently under the influence of a substance, as seen in a video obtained by TMZ.

Lil Nas X is being held in the Valley Jail in Van Nuys. Public information officer Charles Miller shared the following details about the incident, per CNN:

“Upon arrival, the suspect charged at officers and was taken into custody. He was transported to a local hospital for a possible overdose and placed under arrest for battery on a police officer.”

The day before, fans were concerned about the mental well-being of the 26-year-old Atlanta native due to a string of strange videos published on his Instagram account, unsure if those were part of one of his controversial (but beloved) album rollouts – this time for the upcoming Dreamboy, for which he had already released a couple of singles and is set to drop in 2025.
