Lil Durk pleads not guilty to murder-for-hire charges

On Tuesday, January 7, rapper Lil Durk will stand trial in California for conspiracy to commit murder-for-hire, as well as two additional weapons charges, for which he pleads not guilty. Durk remains in federal custody after being arrested in Los Angeles last month, resulting in the delay of his album Deep Thoughts, which was slated to release this autumn.

Durk and five other men were involved in the alleged murder-for-hire plot, all of whom are associated with the rapper's Only the Family collective. They allegedly sought to kill rapper Quando Rondo as revenge for the late OTF member King Von. Durk was the alleged mastermind of the plot that ultimately failed, as Quando Rondo's cousin Saviay’a Tilal “Lul Pab” Robinson was killed instead.

If there's anything to learn from YNW Melly's 2023 trial, it's likely Deep Thoughts will be delayed until the trial's resolution in interest of preventing the album's lyrics from being used as evidence.
