Lido Pimienta announces fifth album 'Caribenya'

Colombian multidisciplinary artist Lido Pimienta has announced her upcoming fifth album Caribenya, due out July 17 via ANTI- Records.

Listen to first single "Tóxica" here:

A playful portmanteau of the words "Caribe" and "Enya," the album title is a nod to the legendary Irish singer who Pimienta is a fan of. In a press release, the artist says she prefers to align herself with the reclusive diva who has largely braved the entertainment industry on her own terms.

Pimienta says:

“I really admire the way that [Enya] stays out of everyone's business and that she's not associated with evil in any way, shape, or form; she's just a nice Irish Catholic lady, living in her castle with her cats and her dogs and her piano playing her music, and I think that that is such an aspirational person. I don't want my daughter to get married or have kids. I want her to fulfill herself and her life. So when I think about Enya…she's that bitch, you know? When she comes out, she's like, oh, I'm gonna make the soundtrack for this multi-billion dollar movie franchise, and I didn't even leave my house to do it. There's something so cunty about that.”

Initially conceived as a B-Side to her previous record, 2025's orchestral La Belleza, the record began to stand out on its own, with Caribenya said to be steeped in everything Pimienta is about: resistance, connection, and a desire to push sonic boundaries.

Engineered by Kirk Jones II with assistant engineer Mason Vukovic and produced by Karen Barraza, the album features live percussion and flutes recorded by Brandon Valdivia and live horns by Pietro Amato. Singers Ana Macho and Nelly Furtado also appear on two respective tracks.

Caribenya is out July 17. Pre-orders will be available soon. Tracklist below:

1. Arrúllame
2. Tóxica
3. Libélula
