Ticket holders of the 2024 Lauryn Hill and the Fugees 'Miseducation Anniversary 2024' tour started receiving refunds Tuesday and the dates were removed from Ticketmaster after the tour was seemingly canceled.
The celebratory reunion tour was set to feature the 1998 diamond certified record The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and 1996's 7x platinum record The Score performed in full, YG Marley, and other unannounced special guests along the way.
The 18-date U.S. portion of their tour was set to kick off in Tampa, FL on Friday, August 9. As of now, no reason or statement has been given by Lauryn Hill, the Fugees, or LiveNation for the cancellation.
Oddly enough, tickets for the European leg of the tour are still currently on sale; that half of the tour is scheduled to begin on October 12, in Manchester, UK. It is unclear if those tickets will remain on sale or will be canceled in the future.
Sadly, for fans of Hill and the Fugees this is not the first time the pair have canceled their touring plans. Since the original announcement of the reunion tour in 2021, the past three years' concerts and tours have unfortunately been canceled for one reason of another.
Last year in November both acts ended their run early due to 'serious vocal strain' and said the shows would commence again in 2024. In 2022 the tour was called off due to 'ongoing COVID conditions'.
It is unclear how long fans will have to wait in order to finally attend the reunion tour, however it could be worth the wait as Variety named the Lauryn Hill and Fugees show at the Forum in Los Angeles, CA as one of the best concerts of 2023.
