The rollout for Laura Marling's eighth studio album Patterns in Repeat (25 October) continues with a new lyric video for second single "No One's Gonna Love You Like I Can".
Setting aside her guitar, Marling takes to the piano for the simple two-minute lullaby, complete with strings that swell towards the end. Marling previewed the track on her Instagram last month with a live performance she recorded at home.
The video was shot on a recent vacation in Dungeness in southeast England, which Marling describes in a recent Substack post as "one of my favourite places on earth." The footage shows Marling's partner, their daughter, and their dog wandering on the pebbled beach and in the shadow of the decommissioned Dungeness nuclear power station, while Marling films herself in a mirror propped up on the windowsill of their rented cottage.
Watch it below:
Marling's recently-announced residencies at Hackney Church in London and at Bowery Ballroom in New York all sold out, so she's added a new matinee show (10 November) to the Bowery run.
