Lana Del Rey has begun a tour of the United Kingdom and Ireland, but her first show in Cardiff, on June 23rd, left many fans unsatisfied.
She arrived almost half an hour late to Principality Stadium, resulting in an abridged setlist. Adhering to the 10:30 p.m. curfew, the singer performed 15 songs, including two covers, in 90 minutes. Many fans aired out their frustrations with Del Rey on social media, as you might imagine.
Del Rey "played just over an hour set, hid behind a wall for 20 mins, sang the same setlist as the last 3 years, overpriced tickets and is playing covers," lamented one, referring to the ticket prices which ranged from just under £80 to £420.
Another fan compared the songstress to Beyoncé, for whom the fan "paid less [to see] and performed for nearly 3 hours."
Music critics dubbed the gig "gloomy but exquisite" and even "a dazzling stadium debut." Hopefully the remainder of Del Rey's tour will live up to such billing.
