Kneecap release new single ahead of the group's Glastonbury Performance

Northern Belfast hip hop trio Kneecap has just released their first single since since their controversial Coachella performance. "The Recap", a new song that the trio has previewed at their live shows since their Wide Awake gig, is now officially streaming.

With production by UK Drum-and-Bass producer, Mozey, this track drops just a few days ahead of their scheduled performance at the 2025 Glastonbury Festival, where there have been multiple calls to pull the group offstage.

As the band prepares for their heavily anticipated gig, the trio is also facing a legal battle surrounding Mo Chara's terror offense for allegedly holding up a Hezbollah flag; the group has publicly denied any involvement in supporting Hezbollah or Hamas. However, Kneecap has seen widespread support from their local fan base and bigger UK acts, including IDLES and Massive Attack, to drop the charges and have their set go on as planned.

At the end of the track, one of the members is heard saying, "Good effort Kemi, hard lines in the elections, onwards and upwards, free Palestine.” This was in direct response to UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch, talking about whether the group should perform at the festival. He said: “No, I don’t, and I think we need to come down really clearly on this. This is about the threats that shouldn’t be made, I won’t say too much because there’s a court case on, but I don’t think that’s appropriate.”

Kneecap's Saturday performance at Glastonbury is currently going on as planned, despite the calls to censor them. In addition to their European festival run this summer, the group will tour North America through the fall. The tour dates are listed below.
