KISS Biopic casts Nick Jonas as Paul Stanley

Dan Weiss

When you think of KISS, the '70s rock/marketing institution whose most visible member made a solo album called Asshole, surely the man who comes to mind to portray the lead singer onscreen is someone from a group whose own personnel were famous for promoting purity rings and still release new solo albums called Music for People Who Believe in Love. But since things are kind of, uh, misaligned in the cosmos atm, we get news like the Jonas Brothers' Nick Jonas tapped to star in the upcoming KISS biopic Shout It Out Loud as Paul Stanley.

The flick will be directed by McG, the guy who did those huge Charlie's Angels reboots and directed your favorite Sugar Ray and Smash Mouth videos as a kid. Jonas will reportedly do his own singing and he's in final talks for the movie of the "Detroit Rock City" legends' origin story, which is slated to begin shooting by early 2026, according to Deadline. They haven't cast their Gene Simmons yet but maybe Ed Sheeran is available.

What do you think?
