Jakko Jakszyk, singer and additional guitarist for the latest incarnation of British prog institution King Crimson, has disclosed that the band are recording a follow-up to their 2003 album, The Power to Believe.
Crimson ceased live performances in the final days of 2021, but Jakszyk declared "we're doing a King Crimson studio album" in a recent interview with Goldmine Magazine.
While Jakszyk does not know when the result will see the light of day, he says "we've been doing it piecemeal, and then a couple of months ago, the management said, 'Can we?' [...] I've been recording that with a view to it coming out in some format at some point."
The musician stated that the project will feature the most recent lineup of the band and include new tracks written and performed live by the triple-drummer ensemble, which toured in recent years.
