King Crimson co-founder Peter Sinfield dead at 80

Peter Sinfield passed away on November 14th, at the age of 80, according to King Crimson's official website. No cause of death has been disclosed.

Sinfield, seen above with Crimson's Robert Fripp, wrote lyrics for the band's first four albums, including 1969's In the Court of the Crimson King. Sinfield also coined the name "King Crimson." On occasion, he would play synthesizer during their live performances.

Following his departure from the prog legends in 1972, Sinfield went on to produce Roxy Music's debut album and write pop songs for artists like Cher and Celine Dion.

It feels appropriate to link the magnificent "Epitaph" from Crimson's debut below, which Sinfield co-wrote.
