Kansas City-based singer/songwriter Kevin Morby has curated a new one-day festival - called This Is A Festival - taking place in California this fall, produced in tandem with Noise Pop Industries and hosted by Morby's favourite podcast How Long Gone.
Describing the 12 October event as "very surreal" and "an absolute dream come true," Morby is bringing some top-drawer talent to the Quarry Amphitheater in Santa Cruz, including Jessica Pratt, Youth Lagoon, Ben Kweller, Makaya Mccraven, and Blackstarkids. "It feels like a dream in which you’re trying to rationalise how all of these different people from your life are somehow in the same place at the same time,” said Morby in a press release.
The name of the festival is, of course, a nod to his most recent album, 2022's This Is a Photograph, and its companion piece More Photographs (A Continuum), released the following year.
Tickets for the festival go on sale today at 10am PDT.
