Kanye West in overnight antisemitic tirade: “I love Hitler”

Controversial American rapper Kanye West shared a variety of racist, antisemitic, and misogynistic tweets in a vile tirade in the early hours of Friday morning.

Among other comments, West offered his praise to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, saying: "Hitler was sooooo fresh", "I love Hitler", "Im [sic] a Nazi", and "CALL ME YADOLF YITLER". He also referenced Elon Musk's gesture at the inauguration, widely interpreted as a Nazi salute, saying "ELON STOLE MY NAZI SWAG AT THE INAUGURATION'. West, 47, also expressed his support for disgraced rapper and record producer Diddy, calling for him to be freed from jail.

Aside from his praise of Nazis, West also took direct aim at Jewish people in several hate-filled tweets, saying that he neither likes nor trusts any Jewish person and black people are used by Jews.

Further, he claimed that the rant was him entirely sober.

West most recently caused outrage over a stunt at the Grammy Awards last Wednesday where his wife, architect , wore a completely see-through dress on the red carpet. She too was referenced in the tirade, with West writing: “I HAVE DOMINION OVER MY WIFE  THIS AIN’T NO WOKE AS FEMINIST SHIT” and that “SHE DEFINITELY WOULDNT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DO IT WITHOUT MY APPROVAL”

West was first accused of antisemitism over a decade ago, stating in 2013 “black people don’t have the same level of connections as Jewish people”, but it was in 2022, when he tweeted that he was going “death con [sic] 3” on Jewish people, that his antisemitic remarks ramped up significantly.

In November 2022, West brought white nationalist and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes to a dinner at Mar-a-Lago with President Donald Trump, which drew widespread outrage including from then-President Biden. The New York Times called the dinner the "most discomfiting moment in U.S. history in a half-century or more" for American Jews. In a December 2022 interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, West declared that "every human being has something of value that they brought to the table, especially Hitler" and "I am a Nazi". He also denied that six million Jews were murdered in the Holocaust.

He was dropped by Adidas, Gap, Balenciaga, Foot Locker, and others over the comments, with Adidas calling them "unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous." He would be suspended from X by Elon Musk in December 2022 after posting swastika inside a Star of David, but was since reinstated. West appeared to have offered an apology for the comments in March 2023 and referenced his antisemitic comments on 2024 Vultures album—yet has since doubled down on the comments, and in several cases intensifying them.
