Hot on the heels of her last two albums (Gush and Thoughts On the Future, both from 2025), composer Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith has another LP on the way. Ruin: It's Not Just Music is out on October 2 via Something Special.

The lead single, "Ruin," arrived alongside the album announcement. Check out the video below.

In a social media post, Smith calls the project a "fuck you album. Not to you – but for you." As for the semi-title track lead single, Smith warns that "it's music for the shock and the aftershock. This is not ambient. 174 bpm."
